Use of Chiropractic Care Increases by Almost 47%
A research letter in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) provides initial findings from the most recent (2022) survey on the use of complementary health approaches (CHA).1 The findings include data from the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), which conducts interviews both by phone and in-person. The CHA results have been published in 2002, 2012 and again in 2022.
Seven forms of complementary care are included in the latest study: chiropractic, acupuncture, guided imagery, massage therapy, meditation, naturopathy and yoga.
Use of any form of CHA increased from 19.2% of the U.S. population in 2002 to well over a third (36.7 %) of the population in 2022 (approximately 122.3 million adults). Use of chiropractic specifically in the previous 12 months increased from 7.5% of adults in 2002 to 11% in 2022 (an increase of almost 47%).* That equates to almost 37 million adult patients.

Giraffe Has the Sweetest Expression After Visit From the Chiropractor (VIDEO)
Yes, Giraffe Chiropractor is a thing.
Apparently, they use their necks like weapons and can develop structural cervical spine issues. This is where Dr. Joren Whitley has carved out a animal chiropractic niche.
I remember a visit to the Santa Barabara Zoo and seeing a plaque dedicated to Gemina the crooked giraffe. Sounds like she could have used and adjustment.
The giraffe’s reaction to the chiropractor made me smile.

ICA President Responds to Pediatrician Misinformation
ICA president Dr. Selina Sigafoose-Jackson had a brilliant response to a pediatrician who questioned referring her pediatric patients to a chiropractor because ‘they take too many xrays and they don’t support vaccination.’
The comments appeared in an online publication to which Dr. Sigafoose was asked to write a rebuttal. You can read it here.
Aside from the obvious misinformation, it would be nice if chiropractors built more bridges with pediatricians as opposed to having to scramble everytime some yahoo on the internet voices an strong anti-chiro opinion.
